Movie Review
Brendon and I saw V for Vendetta last night AFTER going to see the opening night of Your A Good Man Charlie Brown at the dinner theater I had worked at. Opening night for past cast members is free dinner and show. It was really nice to see my Curtain Call friends, Melissa, Tamera, Jill, Johnny, Cliff-y. I miss them more than I thought I would.
However the movie was most entertaining. I didn't expect it to be. I am nonplussed by action/superhero/legend type movies, I feel they are so cheesy - that is not to say I don't enjoy them to a degree. I'm just not awed and amazed. And I wasn't exactly awed and amazed by V but I felt the cheese was kept to a minimum. In fact, when the movie was wrapping up I felt like there could be so much more and that's rare. I often am bored and making up my own quicker endings in my mind before the end of a movie. I know, I'm hopelessly ADD sometimes. One of my pet peeves is overexplaination (which is bad because I am terribly guilty of it myself). I feel that one should not waste time in such a way. Movies get to me if they overexplain just to be longer, or include more shots of such and such or what have you. I didn't feel that V overexplained.
I was intrigued enough to want the graphic novel. I think Brendon and I might try to get our hands on a copy this weekend...

I was debating to myself whether or not I should see this movie. But you've just convinced me. Thanks, Crista!
ps: I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sweet, heartfelt comment on my blog. Just for the record, you are not a failure! And I'm sure you are going to make it in the dancing world, just like I hope I will :). We'll get there someday, Crista, we will!
You know, some boys just go gaga when their girlfriend admits to "want the graphic novel".
I ordered!
