One step forward
six steps back
I'm fiegning knowledge
chasing success

Moving quickly
dodge the flames
trying to decipher
all your games

slowly, skillfully
you plunge the knife
that I drew out
to end my life

I handed you
the fateful key
you took my trust
threw it back at me

but still I try
a solemn path
to save myself
to sleep at last

sacred ground
I still push forward

more than this
