Unlikely Hero

I slept a full nights sleep last night for the first time in weeks is it seems. I have trouble sleeping, I always had since I was young. Growing up when I had night mares or insomnia I would go downstairs to the living room where my Dad slept on the couch and I would sleep on the other couch, perpendicular. Sometimes even that wouldn't help and I'd just wait for the sun to come up and then I'd sleep. In college I slept very little and boy was I tired. After I moved out here I slept fine when I was living with a boyfriend but singlehood brought me insomnia again. I don't know why I am so tortured at night. So lately with my active job, I have been a total crank, exhausted and trying out different vitamins. The night before last I buckled down and bought a bottle of Tylenol PM. Nyquil gives me the shakes so i though my choice was better, just to get some sleep to be able to survive double show weekends. No I took it at 11:30 and stayed wide awake until after 4pm.. shaking. To my chagrin Tylenol PM has antihistamines and I do not react well to them! After brainstorming with my dad and my landmate I had a visitor last night and let me tell you I had a full nights sleep. I woke up refreshed and I didn't wake up at all during the night. My hero? Maia's Siberian Husky Kaiyo. He gets lonely at night and was crying when they shut him outside. Maia has a fiancee and a baby in her room so she brought Kaiyo over to my bungalow. Kaiyo and I cuddled a little and then I passed out... happy and feeling safe. Thanks Kaiyo :) I think he will be a somewhat regular visitor for me!
