Old and New

Last summer when I found out I was sick and then Casey and I started the great divide my baby sister and her boyfriend sent me a "break up care package" from sea. In it were what they deemed the essentials for a girl to get over boy trouble : lip gloss that tasted like sugar cookies, fudge dipped oreos from Ketchicandies, sparkly eye shadow, a girly movie (While You Were Sleeping), and EIGHT custom CD's made by the two of them. Angry music, sad music, my life is over, my life is just beginning, I hate love, I need love music. These have been the best compilation CD's in my collection and I have savored them for a year.

So in doing so my sister introduced me to the artist Elisa. and wow, what a set of pipes on that girl!! Three songs in particular were strategically placed. 1. A little over zero. this song is amazing and helps when you are feeling like you have such a huge hole to climb out of just to be surviving. I think everyone not only hits rock bottom, but sinks into the abyss sometimes. Her voice is so powerful and beautiful. 2. Redemption Song a cover of the Bob Marley classic and I have to say, I am partial to Elisa's version. 3. Life Goes On... again a beautiful song whose main message is "life goes on and it changes and it changes you too" okay they all sound so sappy right? They're powerful

and then I came across Broken. and I love this song because it emcompasses feeling broken and wrecked but knowing that time truly does change and heal everything and sometimes, you just have to be broken for a while. Here's the lyrics:
