Opportunity
It happened!! I got the job at Knotts :) all those years at school (okay so it was only three but they seemed very long) I had the hardest time believing I would ever make an audition and now...I have had a pretty steady stream of work since Christmas. I could talk it down...it's only a theme park, not even Disney land, the only jobs I got before that were at a dinner theater...blah blah blah. I know I have fellow alum who are touring with major productions...but this, for me, is amazing! It's full time performing work with a competititve wage. I am stoked! Now comes the scheduling, for it happens to conflict with EVERYTHING else I am involved with, but how can I turn it down? as a performer, this is a vital step so, I will take a deep breath, and ready myself for negotiations. Honestly that's probably great for me, I like to avoid negotiating at all times and that is just not realistic. Fortunately, my full time job is completely working around my schedule. I am taking off three weeks for the rehearsals and then I will be working mornings only on days I have shows (shows are 3, 5, and 7). I say, show me another corporation willing to do that for the employees lowest on the food chain! Truly, I am blessed...blessed and out of shape...it is also time to prep myself for rehearsals so I will be stretching every morning and working out as much as I can (which is actually not much right now). Oh the dinner theater - I will be talking to the director this morning about this schedule, we'll see what happens. The hardest negotiation will be the dance studio I teach at because my first show at Knotts is the same day as thier recital, the recital we've been prepping for since January. So, I will do my best to allay thier fears and prepare them completely and I will be there the morning of right up until the start of the show so hopefully all will be alright. I have to discuss this with the director but she happens to be out of town right now.
okay that is all!
okay that is all!
