Dance Quotes

"O body swayed to music, O brightening glance, How can we know the dancer from the dance?" -William Butler Yeats

"While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance." -Hans Bos

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all of time this expression is unique. And if you block it it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it." -Martha Graham

When you do dance, I wish you
A wave o' the sea, that you might ever do
Nothing but that.

William Shakespeare, *The Winter's Tale*, Sc. 3, line 140

When Mikhail Baryshnikov was asked if he was teased as a child for being a dancer, he replied something to the effect of, "My friends were outside playing hockey, freezing & beating eachother up. I was in a warm dance studio, lifting beautiful girls. Who's the fool?"

Not exactly the same as yours but I've always liked that story.
