My Day Off
Well, I haven't posted for a while. I tried on Monday but I accidentally posted to my roommates site instead ! I am using her computer for now and her password is saved automatically or something like that...I'm a dancer, this tech stuff is beyond me (just kidding, kind of).
I started rehearsing at knotts on Monday. It's a blast! To think, I am getting paid to show up in dance clothes, run around the stage for 8 hours, and take my lunch in a theme park with peers! Who else can show up to work in a halter top and pajama pants? Aaahhh, a dancers life is exciting. Don't get me wrong, i get bored in rehearsals or classes, there are days I don't feel well, and days, like today when I am really REALLY sore...but it's worth it because it is so fufilling and exciting. The goal and the excitement are in the show, the performance. It's a tangible goal, a reachable climax. aaahhhh....
In other news Brendon and I, Mel and Ryan, and two of our friends went to see Star Wars last night (a good time to see it as there was barely anyone else in the theater). It was fun to watch even though I would have preferred it to be shorter. While I enjoyed the story line and the effects, the main reason I had a good time was that there was plenty of opportunity to share a laugh with Brendon or our friends. The script for the Padme and Anakin was funny, really funny. It was nearly uncomfortably cheesy....and who sleeps in a beaded gown with full hair and makeup other than Padme? Natalie Portman could have directed herself to a much better performance. And there were several lines throughout the film that were cliche and overwrought (but really, all movies I have seen as an adult have lines that I find cliche, overwrought, unneccessary, or cheesy, I think it would be very very difficult to write a script with NOTHING predictable or overused in it). Brendon quotes Anakins final angst wridden cry to get me to laugh, and it works. But regardless, I did enjoy the movie and I realize I see it from a different perspective as I haven't see the other movies in the series (well I did see most of Star Wars a long time ago...but not anything else).
So that's that.
