One More Update... a happier note I promise
By the way, I love the internship! It's for a non-profit called WordTheater. I spent 5 hours researching literature for pieces to be performed at an event called Acts of Love - Autism Speaks. That's right, paid in lunch, I spent my Thursday buried in Yeats poetry, letters from Flannery O'Conner, Vietnamese and Russian Fairy Tales, and Time Magazine essays. Sounds like a perfect day to me.
The woman who started the non-profit asked me what I was interested in. I said "writing. I want to get published" She said "perfect! my interns usually work with me a year before taking a paid position" and then she set me up in the office burrowing through literature. She does a lot of voice over work and is actually "the voice of the Democratic Campaign". Nice!
So I'll be working in Mar Vista with my nose in a book Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm stoked!
