Icicle

I am an icicle
frozen from birth
who hasn't found out my purpose on earth

each day I wait for the sun and the elements
to thaw me from the outside in

each drop that melts and falls to the ground
is another part of me that life has found

for each bit of water that falls to the soil
seeks out the ocean, it's home, it's goal

and like the wind and the rain and the sun
each person and place thaws me, teaches me something

and starting out as a hardened piece
I learned to soften, to warm, to unfreeze

my life is an icicle
frozen from birth
but each drop that falls
helps me find my purpose, my life, my worth.

I like that poem. I'm still trying to find my purpose in life.
Be good to yourself.
