People are cruel
in unexpected ways
in the little things they say to put you down

A smile on thier face
to garner your embrace
while they coax out the insecurities they've found

Women with thier sacchrine smiles
who use thier words to hide thier wiles
They'll never understand the depth of love

you can find when you are truly kind
work hard to leave your past behind
and see each girl as sister, child, friend

Why is it so hard
to just play your hand of cards
not worrying to knock the others down
