Oh and one more thing...
I went to a high fall class yesterday!!!
It's where you learn stunt falls. We are only doing low falls to learn (20 feet!). But I fell...er actually, I jumped of a lift for two.5 hours into an airbag. I'm not going to lie, I like aerial arts better, I am scared of falling and missing the bag (impossible at our height, but we'll be getting up to 60 feet!) or landing on my neck (not impossible). But it was something neat to try.
There are four kinds of falls you can do:
1. the fireman - jump forward land on your backside like you are sitting in a recliner
2. header - fall face forward and spot your target until the last second then tuck your head and flip to land on your back. this one is most common. You have to hold falling forward as long as possible. In a movie scene the scene is over once you flip to your back so you flip and the last second. This one scares me, but I did it the most.
3. Back fall - the only blind fall. You spot the building your jumping from and hope to God the mat doesn't move
4. I can't remember the last ones name but you fall forward and at the last minute do a diver move where you torque your arms around to land on your back. I messed this one up and ended up corskrewing in the air and landing completely sideways. I'm talented
whatever, it was cool to learn and I go back next week for more falling fun and fear :)
